Sunday, Jan. 29, The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. Picture if you will: Jellyfish serenely floating past…crepes. Otters playing alongside….extreme cheddar popcorn. Sturgeon swimming by….jars of Blueberry Limocello Jam. Whaa? There’s a logical reason-The Chocolate Expo was in full tilt boogie at the Maritime Aquarium this past weekend! Over 40 vendors displayed their sweet and savory creations throughout the winding halls and folks young and old packed in, sampling, buying, oohing and ahhing; all the while catching glimpses of their favorite sea creatures. What a mix! In a place that usually holds scents of sea, the buttery scents of crepes, sweet chocolate and tart pickles filled the air. From chocolate bars, churros and giant Whoopie pies to spaghetti sauce, homemade peanut butter, coffees and jams, every craving was ready to be satiated.
If you weren’t able to make it to the Expo, check out the vendor’s websites and you just may see something you like. Sorry, no seals and jelly fish available.
